September 11, 2001 - we lived in NYC back then. I saw the smoke rising from the Twin Towers from the roof of our apartment building. And we could see and smell the smoke rising from the Ground Zero site for weeks and months after that.
3,000 Americans died on that day. It was a terrible tragedy. But there is an even greater tragedy. On 09/11/2001, the world was holding its breath. People were expecting a strong and furious response - but it never came. Very soon, it became clear that the US is the proverbial paper tiger. That this country is afraid to pursue its enemies, that political correctness is more important to its people than self-preservation. That was the prelude to the infamous "apology tour" by Obama.
And it has been going down since then. Would Mohammed Atta be able to find another 19 terrorists to attack this country today in the same manner? Would it be seen by the jihadists as something that is even worth their efforts?
