School taught them that America is bad. Mosque taught them that America is bad. But it is ours fault that we weren't tolerant enough to them and didn't fully make them feel accepted here.

Edit: you can tie it back to what souldoc said above. If your educators and religious leaders tell you that americans are dishonorable, cowardly racists and baby killers, why wouldn't you do the right thing and fight against them.
