Does anybody here remember Fukuyama?...

Regarding the Brexit

Remember Fukuyama and his End of History? Too many people got themselves into believing that the leftward drift of the Western society is the end and the top of the social and political evolution of the Mankind. That life is going to be more or less the same as now, only better here and there. And that one can kick the very foundations of the society for the sake of a political agenda since the order of things cannot and will not be destroyed. Just because - well, because it is the end and the top of History. This attitude let's people do the same things that led to terrible troubles in the past without worrying about them.

Well, guess what. The History is not over yet. And however small (comparatively) the shock of the Brexit may be, it is yet another serious reminder that History IS happening right now, with all that can follow from it.
